Elagabalus, 218-222. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.41 g, 7 h), uncertain mint in the East, 218-219. ANTONINVS PIVS FEL AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Elagabalus to right, seen from behind. Rev. EILARITAS (sic!) AVG Hilaritas standing front, head to left, holding patera in her right hand and palm frond in her left; at her feet, two nude children standing right and left, reaching up to her. BMC -. Cohen -. RIC -. Thirion -. Apparently unpublished save for its previous auction appearance, a very interesting variety with this reverse legend spelling error. Good very fine.
